About Sarah Rønholt
My name is Sarah, I'm 37 years old, and nature and fishing have been the focus of my life for the past 15 years. I've been traveling and fishing for over a decade, and some of my most important years were spent in Patagonia.
As a photographer, I have worked with the outdoors and fishing for many years. I thrive best when I get to document the real thing – the imperfect, the raw, the ordinary, which becomes something special when you take the time to see it.
In all these years along rivers and coasts, I have met few women on my path and that is one of the reasons why I created Fish&Chicks: a place where women can get into nature and fishing without feeling like they have to know everything from the start. A community where you can learn, ask, make mistakes, laugh and grow together. Over the past two years, over 100 women have attended my events both in Denmark and abroad.
2 years ago we moved from Copenhagen to an old farm with the Skjern River in the backyard – literally. I live here with my husband and our three dogs, and I really appreciate the rhythm that nature gives to everyday life. I really enjoy gathering in the river valley, cooking over a campfire and finding peace in the little routines that come with living in the countryside. And then I can fish for salmon every day – all season long.
I am also Patagonia's fly fishing ambassador in Scandinavia and I sit on the board of the Skjern Å Association, where I work with promoting river management. It means a lot to me to be involved in the nature around us.
